Milestones for 2st IP

For our soccer tournament we really did not have a milestone date. We tried to always inform our players through texts or calls on when they will play. Because of what happened during the basketball tournament when plans did not fully go out like we wanted them too we tried to make this event a little more organized. Sadly because we did not have enough players to do a full tournament we had to settle with the players that we had and carry out our event as planned for that day because we already had players that said they wanted to play. In the end everyone had fun, in the future if me and my co-captain do choose to do another tournament we will make sure it is more organized and that every thing is on time and on point so that we do not run into this type of problem again. I think maybe after the basketball and soccer tournament did not work out we will try and do something else, maybe go with a different alternative for IP's instead of sport tournaments.

Sadly because we did not have enough players to do a full tournament it wasn't that hard to get ahold of the players that did commit to this event. Soccer Tournament Reflection

Aviation High School came again with another tournament but this time we did a soccer tournament! And once again this tournament was just as exciting and fun as the other ones. Mohamed Hersi as well as myself hosted this soccer tournament. We played a 4 vs 4 soccer game, unfortunately we were only able to play half of the full field so sideline to sideline instead of 120 yards like a regular soccer field.
A couple things that went right with the tournament was there was no arguments or close altercations like what usually happens when we host a tournament. Another thing that went well was we had enough people to play 4 on 4. We even had some teachers participating in this tournament, Mr. Gudor and Mr. Phillips (student teacher) played an awesome game with the students. Those little things are always good because in the future when we have other tournaments at the school we know the same people or even more will participate.
A couple things that went wrong when doing the tournament was because of the least amount of helpers that we had we couldn't play with refs, another thing is there wasn't that many teams either. so the 4 on 4 that we had were the only teams that came to participate.
I believe that if we would've gave the people more time to collect a team and try to participate it would've been a more successful tournament!
Pictures of the Tournament coming soon!

AHS SPRING SOCCER TOURNAMENT- Lead Project #2

I am partnering up with Mohamed Hersi and we are conducting a soccer tournament at the school. The game is going to be played on half of the full soccer field (so from sideline to sideline instead of the full 120 yards). Each team will have 5 people, and one of the five people are the Team Captain, the Team Captain's job is to make sure that they answer any text or call from me or Mohamed and let their team know when they are scheduled to have a game. Every game will be played during lunch(guaranteed). Some games, if we need to speed up the tournament will be played during Intramurals club (if we get permission from the office and the creator of Intramurals Club). So if you are interested in being a Team Captain come and talk to either me or Mohamed and we will be happy to let you fill out a roster sheet.

How the Tournament Will Work
So the tournament is single elimination, or if their isn't that many participating teams then we will have double elimination. All five players will be playing on the field at one time, you will get 10-15 minutes to play your games, straight up MLS rules, Mohamed and I will be the ones reffing the games unless we have some volunteers that would like to come and help out! After that it is anybodys game! We are allowing players to get their fouls and get a free kick if it is necessary, more rules and how the tournament will be posted as soon as we get closer to tournament time!

Project Start Time

We will start our tournament ASAP as soon as the brackets fill up, and we should be wrapping up the tournament approximently 2 weeks after the start of it.

Things That Might Interfere With A Successful Project

The only way this project will not become successful is if the times in which we tell the teams to play do not carry out, if their isnt enough teams to fill out all the brackets and if the rules are not being carried out in a manner in which the school finds appropriate. Another thing that might not play in our favor is the weather, because it is spring time it does rain A LOT, especially where we live, so we have to make the sure the weather is appropriate because some people are picky about playing because of the weather conditions

Let me know if you have any questions or comments and just leave it in the comment box below!

Thank you!

IP Help Reflection #1

So for my first IP Help, I helped DeAundre Cola with his Sophomore Movie Night. The Movie Night was held in Mrs. Fitz room (rm. 22) and he was showing Baby Momma. DeAundre needed some help with setting up and advertising for his event. With the help of Mohamed Hersi, Gabby Terrazas and myself we were able to help DeAundre with a successful Sophomore Movie Night!
The way that I participated to help DeAundre was getting the word out to people about the event! I told many of the sophomores that I knew around the school to attract their interests into participating in the event. I also helped by making many big posters to hang around the school to catch the eye of the other sophomores that I probably missed when attempting to get the word out. The poster making process was a fast process that only took a day to make and hang around the school. The upfront conversations with the sophomores took a little more time because a lot of sophomores would say that they would go, but by the look on their faces it looked like a "maybe" or a "Okay I get it, can you get outta my face now" kind of look.
The other way I helped DeAundre was setting up and cleaning up, sadly it was only me and him to help set up and clean up after the event. We had to move the desks to make a giant center for all the sophomores to come to watch the movie. Bring in snacks such as soda, pizza, chips, popcorn, cookies, you name it! And after all of that was done we had to clean up and put everything away.
That is basically what I have done to help Mr. Cola have a successful Sophomore Movie Night!

IP Help #1

For my first IP Help project i decided to help DeAundre Cola and his Sophomore Movie Night!!

Things he needs help with:
-Advertising: Letting people (mainly sophomores) know that there is an upcoming movie night, the name of the movie will be named soon. The way we make people know, through voice- having people tell sophomores in person about the movie night. Another way of advertising this event, through posters- let people know when, where, what time, and what to bring to this event so everyone can enjoy their time!
-Set up: Basically on the day of the movie night he needs to help set up the room, fill it with snacks so people can eat and enjoy the movie and move tables and chairs so people can view the screen without any discomfort.

I will be helping DeAundre with both of these so that he has a successful movie night!

Mohamed Hersi as well as myself hosted this basketball tournament. We played a 4 vs 4 basketball game, unfortunately we were only able to play half of the full court so sideline to sideline instead of from baseline to baseline like a regular basketball court.
A couple things that went right with the tournament was there was no arguments or close altercations like what usually happens when we host a tournament. Another thing that went well was we had enough people to play 4 on 4 and have subs as well. Those little things are always good because in the future when we have other tournaments at the school we know the same people or even more will participate.
